Polynesian Cultural Center (Audrey)

Yesterday we went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation, and the Polynesian Cultural Center. The Dole Pineapple Plantation is where pineapples and other crops are grown. They have the world’s largest maze, and a train tour of the plantation. They also have the world’s best pineapple ice cream. Then we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center, a place where a bunch of Polynesian Islands were represented. When we first got there, we went and watched all sorts of the island people dance in canoes on the lake, traditional dances. After that, we went to a presentation on how the coconut tree could provide for every thing that you need. I got chosen to drink out of a fresh coconut, and I also got chosen to get a palm leaf basket, that they made right there. Then we went to a Luau, which is a traditional feast, dance, and party, held by the Native Hawaiians. After that, we went to a show, called The Breath of Life. It was almost all in a different language that I couldn’t understand, but it was really cool, and we all liked it. Then we went back to our hotel. Today, we went to the tallest mountain on the island of O’ahu, called Diamond Head Mountain. We climbed all the way up, and now we might go swim in a lagoon.  I will send some pictures soon.
